Newark' s first ever Motor
Show took place on Sunday, July 1st.
The unpredictability of the British weather did not dampen spirits, with
hundreds of visitors turning out to look at the many cars and
organisations on display.
Organised by the Advertiser Group, a wide range of stands and displays
kept all the family entertained. As well as the main motor dealers,
Nottinghamshire Police and St. John Ambulance attended and the Fire
Brigade also held demonstrations.
A four-lane Scalextric in the Buttermarket and a cardboard car-making
session by Newark and Sherwood Arts kept children amused, whilst in the
Market Place cars from Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot, Skoda, perodua and
Bad Ass Motors were on show.
There was a positive response from both exhibitors and visitors, leaving
many looking forward to the Motor Show in 2008, a date to be announced
very soon.
